For Immediate Release: Hampton Family members, Freedom First International, and community will Hold a Press Conference for Juneteenth Memorial Celebration for Fred Hampton 

Stand with us on June 19, 2019 at 6:00pm for Emancipation Day Juneteenth Independence Day to celebrate the Life, Legacy and commitment of Legendary Chicago Icon Chairman Fred Hampton. 

The group plans to move forward with a memorial marker where Fred Hampton was murdered. 

We will have various speakers from all around Chicago. Special Guest Speaker Bishop Gregg L.Greer, Tio Hardiman, Bishop Don Adams, Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef. Pastor Al Sampson and many more. Meet us at the Wall!

  • The Family of Fred Hampton and community supporters will discuss plans to ask for a memorial marker where Fred Hampton was murdered.  
  • Freedom First President Bishop Gregg L.Greer will lay the grounds against Denny’s and explain the rational to announce a national boycott.
  • Group will discuss other plans of action to organize around the 50 Anniversary of Fred’s Chicago Black Panther movement.


Information on Juneteenth 

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America.


WHAT:   For Immediate Release: Freedom First International, Family Members and community will Hold a Press Conference for Juneteenth Memorial Celebration for Chicago Civil Rights Icon Fred Hampton 

WHERE:   Fred Hampton Wall. 2746 Madison Street Chicago, IL (Front). Starting at 6:00-Press please be present before 6:30pm.

WHO: Freedom First International, Black Panther Cubs, Chicago Social Justice Network, Tikkun Chai International (Humanitarian Project), Bishop Gregg L.Greer, Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef, and a growing list of multiple community activist. 

WHY:  Community will organize around the Black Panther Clubs movement and the 50th anniversary. (Petition for a memorial maker at the location where Fred was murdered.
