Freedom First International Responds to President Trump’s Threat to Defund Democratic Cities
September 13, 2020 at 8 am
Media Briefing For Immediate Release:
The Trump Administration is looking to cut off billions of dollars in federal funds from U.S. Cities with Democratic Leaders. A five page memo signed by Trump last Wednesday calls for federal funding to be cease in NYC and three other cities where Trump claims there is a presence of “Anarchist Jurisdiction.”
In an effort to build his re-election campaign, he is pushing his agenda amid the uprising of continuous racial injustice protests that has resulted from law enforcement’s involvement in assaults and brutal killings of unarmed black people across the nation.
Official Press Statement
We at Freedom First International believe Instead of encouraging unity, and enforcing judicial equality, within law enforcement, The Trump administration continues to add fuel to the fire, by defending the actions of members of supremacy groups. A recent example is the case of Kyle Rittenhouse, a seventeen year old, who was visually armed and had fatally shot two people, during a protest of a shooting of yet another unarmed black man Jacob Blake in Kenosha Wisconsin.
We most “strongly” oppose any action that justifies the murder of any human being and strongly urge that President Trump is incorrect to condone Kyle Rittenhouse’s actions, as Trump recently sent a twitter text which seeks to justify the shooting as self defense.
Freedom First International Summary
Freedom First International realizes that the withholding of any federal funding including any relief funds by elected government officials is unethical, and perhaps used only to gain votes and financial control over the people.
We are concerned that the ongoing battle to gain political control has abandoned the needs and safety of all people, with members of both parties seemingly at each other’s throats-and the livelihood of millions of citizens are at stake.
We are calling for judicial justice, diversity, and equality from our local governments, community leaders, law enforcement, and elected officials, to ensure a better quality of life for everyone.
While we are “sick and tired of being sick and tired”– we will work upto the point of exhaustion until we see and feel visible change. (FFI)
