For Immediate Release: Freedom First International and other Community Activist Groups Urge action about potential serial killer in Chicago’s Urban Areas

Bishop Gregg L.Greer and Chicago Community Activist Leadership will address the police board meeting (at Chicago Police Board Headquarters) as well as conduct a press conference before the meeting urging Chicago Police Leadership and New Chicago Mayor to address recent explosive reports that Chicago may have a serial killer on the loose.

Freedom First International and groups have grown deeply concerned about a growing list of more than 50 deaths in recent months.  Freedom First International agrees with the findings of the Murder Accountability Project, which shows via computer formula highlights a pattern of killings — 50 females strangled and dumped since 2001 that could suggest signal a serial killer.

“This isn’t something we’re going to sweet under the rug or put up on the shelf for it to disappear,” said CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson. “We still investigate these cases.”

“There’s simply nothing there right now that suggests that we have serial killers in the City of Chicago,” Johnson said.

Johnson says he’s deeply concerned about these 50 deaths. But the head of the Murder Accountability Project, Thomas Hargrove, says research might show otherwise.

“It’s highly unlikely these 50 women were murdered by 50 separate men,” Hargrove said.

Tonight Freedom First International is asking The Police board including New Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to stand with victims’ families and community members demanding answers and announce a task force to address the potential of Serial Killer in Chicago’s urban areas.

Freedom First International and coalitions partner groups are urging a review of the murder cases on March 21, saying she hopes it will give some “peace” to surviving family members and “let the world know black lives do matter.”

For Immediate Release: Freedom First International and Chicago Activist conduct Press Rally to bring Further attention and punishment to Catholic Priest who Sexually Abused Children

FFL LOGO
Chicago Community Activist will conduct a press rally to call on the Chicago Officials and Illinois Archdiocese to urge prioritization of punishment and accountability for the dioceses across the state to take steps and in place policies to hold officials, such as Catholic bishops, responsible for covering up abuse of local children.

The activist are meeting in response to a scathing report from Attorney General Lisa Madigan found that the number of Catholic priests accused of sexual abuse against children in Illinois is much higher than previously acknowledged.

The report said accusations have been leveled against 690 priests, while Catholic officials have publicly identified only 185 clergy with credible allegations against them.
Although the report says that “Clergy sexual abuse of minors in Illinois is significantly more extensive than the Illinois Dioceses previously reported,” it does not estimate how many of the allegations against the 690 clergy should have been deemed credible. Some of the allegations go back decades.

The activist are also calling on anyone in the public to come forward with any information but they recognize that the criminal justice system may not be one where they will get relief, but they are seeking a measure of justice, they are seeking closure.

Official Statement
While Cardinal Cupich and the church are very large part of that is the church-we need to see and know that they taking their allegations seriously, investigating them and acknowledging the crimes that took place, and also publicly disclosing the names of the individuals who committed those crimes.”
